STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Little Jewels Christian Preschool program is open to all children regardless of race and religion.

Ages

Classes are offered for students ages 3-5.

Restroom

Students must be potty trained.

Clothing

Be sure that your child's clothing is:

  • Comfortable, washable, appropriate for play and is ready for indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Students are requested to wear sneakers at all times.
  • Dress shoes, ties, shoes with heels, flip flops and hoop earrings should not be worn.

Arrival/Departure

  • Students may arrive at the school no earlier than 30 min. prior to class and may depart from school no later than 30 min. afterwards.
  • Students need to be signed in and out each day and will only be released to a registered parent/guardian. If someone arrives to collect your child and we have not been introduced and their name is not on file, we CANNOT allow your child to leave with them.
  • Parents must park in the rear of the church building and enter through the double doors on the lower level. For the safety of all children, do not leave your car running when entering the building.

Lunch/Snack

All lunches are parent provided. We recommend parents provide a nutritious cold lunch with selections from the four food groups. Please do not send soda, gum, or candy. Make sure to label all containers and the box/bag. Lunch periods are scheduled only for students registering as full day students.

A school provided snack will be served during each class.

Before/After School Care

Child care will not be available. Parents in need of assistance with child care may speak with our staff for information on providers in the immediate area.

Items From Home

Each student will need a change of clothes for emergency purposes and an old shirt for painting. Do not send toys or other special items from home unless the teacher has requested the student bring in something for show and tell. Further information about show and tell will appear in the first newsletter. PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING!!!

Discipline

We believe that children need guidance in developing self-discipline and that as parents and educators it is our responsibility to lead them in the proper direction. When a student continues to be a repeat offender or puts other children in danger, the teacher and parents will meet to work out a plan of action for home and school to help improve the child's behavior.

Attendance/Vacation

Regular attendance is encouraged; however, if you are planning a vacation please let the staff know. Students registered for Fall and Spring terms have a one week vacation allowance. Students registered for Summer term have a one week vacation allowance. All vacation days must be taken within one calender week. No tuition is due for a vacation week.

Sickness/Allergies

When a student becomes ill, a parent/guardian will be notified and the child must be picked up immediately. If a parent cannot be reached, we will call the emergency contact(s) listed on the emergency form. Children are not to be sent to school when ill. Whenever an antibiotic is prescribed, your child must be on the antibiotic for at least 24 hours and fever and/or diarrhea free before returning to school. Notify the school immediately in the event of contact with communicable disease.

Please notify the teacher of any foods or drinks that your child may be allergic to.

Should the student become sick at school, parents will be notified to pick up the student immediately.
